S helter programming plays a crucial role in supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, refugees, and other affected populations in Afghanistan. Our comprehensive approach includes providing various types of shelters—emergency, transitional, and permanent—tailored to meet the diverse needs of these vulnerable groups. In addition to our shelter initiatives, we also recognize the importance of providing non-food items (NFIs) and core relief items to affected populations, particularly in emergencies and during post- emergency recovery phases. These essential items support the basic needs of individuals and families, contributing to their overall well-being and stability in challenging circumstances. Our overarching goal is to deliver a transparent and accountable response that not only addresses immediate housing needs but also lays the groundwork for long-term recovery and resilience among displaced and affected communities in Afghanistan.
